Yealink Continues to Flourish in UC Market

CommsTrader caught up with Yealink’s VP of sales, Leo Huang

by Rob Scott

The success of Yealink is undeniable and we recently had a sit down with Yealink’s VP of Sales,  Leo Huang, to see what new products the Chinese Telco-giants have to offer and what plans they have for the future.

As the number one provider for SIP Endpoints in the EMEA markets and number two in the North American Market, it’s clear that Yealink know what they’re doing when it comes to providing high quality telco solutions.

With this in mind, the first thing we wanted to know from Leo was what Yealink have done to improve on their existing successes and what new innovations they have brought to the table to enhance the communications of their customers.

One of the first things he mentioned was the big investments on enriching and advancing the Yealink desktop IP phone solution from audio conferencing CP960 and CP920 and to the latest multi-media T5 Series IP phone and DECT IP phone.

“Over the last decades, we have witnessed the growth of IP telephony. With the discontinuation of ISDN services, hosted IP telephony and UCaaS is on the increase. Top providers are diversifying their solution portfolio to better cater to differing SMB and enterprise needs. Yealink continues to surf on the waves, seeking to offer our partners and customers high quality, best-fit and future-proof solution”, said Leo.

Yealink has not only enhanced audio quality by utilising Harman’s acoustic technology and Yealink Noise Proof technology in their products.  More importantly, Yealink carefully innovate user experience to differentiate themselves from other vendors. Leo particularly mentioned the CP960, their enterprise-grade conference phone. It’s not just easy to control with a 5-inch colour touch screen, the phone has an industry-unique pentagon Meeting Room interface for quick interaction and zero interruption joining conferencing, as well as “Hybrid UC Meeting” to merge mobile/PC phone calls, allowing people to connect from virtually any device.

It seems that improving conference calling and providing businesses with a wealth of new opportunities to collaborate with one another is the chief priority for Yealink as a business both at the larger end smaller end with their newly released endpoint phones.

While the traditional IP phone market may be in a state of decline, it interesting to see how Yealink still remain on the up slope in the market by ensuring their open SIP phones are compatible with a plethora of on-premises solutions as well as cloud based phone system providers.

Yealink’s relationships with big name vendors such BroadSoft, and (particularly) Microsoft have always been strong. Yealink has launched launch their new Skype for Business endpoint; Yealink T4S Series IP Phone, and the Yealink device management platform for it in September this year. Yealink and Leo made it clear that the brand will continue to build on these partnerships by providing further support and integration for popular apps such as Skype for Business (now Microsoft Teams) on their devices over the next 6 months.

As a company with a track record of producing high quality communications solutions, it’s nice to see that Yealink are still striving to improve their game and their latest set of products are testament to the brand’s dedication to delivering innovative communications for their customers.

With this in mind, we really look forward to seeing where Yealink will go from here and how they will build on their successes and adapt to ensure they stay relevant in a world where collaboration is becoming an increasingly dominant.
