What is Presenter Tracking?

In training sessions, presentations, or course instruction scenarios, the Presenter Tracking feature ensures that the speaker remains centered in the view, allowing you to concentrate more on the presentation content.

How to Implement Presenter Tracking

Presenter Tracking

A variety of tracking modes are available to accommodate every speech scenario.

Presenter Tracking offers various tracking modes to optimize performance for every presentation.

According to your settings on Yealink RoomConnect, the camera integrates your configured parameters with area images. It calculates the area and speaker coordinates in real time using algorithms and adjusts the camera based on these coordinates to achieve effective tracking.

Wide Area Tracking

Set the effective tracking area on Yealink RoomConnect. The camera zooms in real-time and follows the speaker within the designated area. This feature is ideal for scenarios where the speaker moves around a large space, such as when presenting from a podium and interacting with the audience offstage.

Segment Tracking

Set the effective tracking area on Yealink RoomConnect and divide it into 1 to 4 segments. When the speaker approaches a designated screen area, the camera automatically switches to the corresponding segment to better display the relevant screen content. This feature is applicable in environments with multiple screens, such as projectors, whiteboards, and blackboards.

Stage Tracking

Set the effective tracking area on the Yealink Room Connect. The camera will focus on this area and follow the speaker in real time. This feature is ideal for lecture halls or stage settings where the speaker moves exclusively within the designated stage area.

Identify and Track Speakers: Ultra-Wide-Angle 4K Dual Camera

The following two triggering methods can enable the camera to recognize the speaker as the tracking object.

Zone Trigger

According to the area you designate in Yealink RoomConnect, once the camera captures the image of the designated space, the algorithm calculates the coordinates of that area and identifies the speaker using a human body detection algorithm to achieve effective tracking.

Application

You can select the trigger mode as  on Yealink RoomConnect. When someone enters the designated area, the red and green lights on the camera will flash three times, indicating that the person has been identified as the follow-up object. If multiple individuals enter the follow-up object identification area, the camera will randomly select one of them as the follow-up object.

Gesture Trigger

Gesture recognition involves estimating the key points of the hand through posture analysis. It utilizes the relationships between these key points to identify the current gesture and classifies them into categories such as the five-finger open/OK gesture and the fist gesture, thereby achieving effective gesture recognition. The overall detection accuracy is approximately 97.35%.

Ultra-Wide-Angle 4K Dual Camera

Application

You can enable gesture triggering on Yealink RoomConnect. The human body detection algorithm and gesture recognition work together to successfully identify the speaker as the subject when they face the camera, raise their hand, and maintain an open hand or  gesture for more than two seconds, until the camera indicator light flashes red and green three times. To stop tracking, simply face the camera and hold a fist gesture for more than two seconds.

Technical Advantage — Anti-Blocking Solution

During the speaker tracking process, if there are other individuals present or if the target speaker re-enters the frame, Yealink has developed a unique anti-occlusion tracking solution to prevent the camera from losing sight of the speaker.

The anti-occlusion solution thoroughly assesses facial features, the motion state of the potential target object, and the color distribution characteristics of the target object's clothing. It analyzes this information to accurately identify the speaker to be tracked. In the event of camera interference, the system can quickly re-establish tracking of the speaker, ensuring that the target remains centered in real time while the zoom lens operates smoothly and naturally.

Functional Notes

Before using the Presenter Tracking function, you must calibrate the lens to ensure that no objects are obstructing the fixed-focus lens. Recalibration is necessary after moving the camera.

After enabling the Presenter Tracking feature, if you change the conference layout, you will need to reconfigure the speech tracking settings.

When tracking cannot be initiated, verify whether the individual has entered the designated effective tracking range. If necessary, consider expanding the tracking range settings.

This function is only applicable to UVC86 cameras with software version 151.410.0.5 or higher.

Product Application

UVC 86 is now equipped with Presenter Tracking. Its ultra-wide field of view effortlessly captures every detail of the conference room, ensuring a first-class experience for you.
