Un « flux provenant d'une caméra » fait référence à la transmission continue de données vidéo en direct d'une caméra vers un appareil, un réseau ou une plateforme via Internet ou un réseau local. Ce processus de diffusion en continu permet de visualiser, d'enregistrer ou de diffuser en temps réel le contenu vidéo capturé par la caméra sans avoir besoin de supports de stockage physiques ou de connexions filaires directes entre la caméra et l'appareil du spectateur.

Voici comment cela fonctionne généralement  :

  1. Captureur :Une caméra, qui peut être un appareil autonome, une webcam intégrée, une caméra de smartphone ou une caméra IP spécialisée, capture des séquences vidéo.

  2. Codage :Les données vidéo brutes sont ensuite codées par la caméra ou un périphérique connecté dans un format numérique compatible avec la diffusion en continue, tel que H.264 ou H.265. Le codage implique également la compression de la vidéo pour gérer les besoins en bande passante pour une transmission efficace.

  3. Transmission :Le flux vidéo codé est envoyé via Internet ou un réseau local vers un serveur, un réseau de diffusion de contenu (CDN) ou directement vers l'appareil du spectateur. Cela peut se faire via Wi-Fi, Ethernet, données cellulaires ou d'autres connexions réseau.

  4. Décodage :L'appareil récepteur (un ordinateur, un téléphone mobile, un téléviseur intelligent ou un autre appareil compatible) décode le flux en contenu vidéo visible.

  5. Afficher :La vidéo décodée est ensuite affichée en temps réel sur l'écran du spectateur, permettant une surveillance en direct, une interaction (en cas de communication bidirectionnelle) ou un enregistrement pour une lecture ultérieure.

La diffusion en continu à partir d'une caméra est largement utilisée dans diverses applications, notamment  :

  • Diffusion vidéo en direct sur des plateformes de médias sociaux ou des sites Web.
