Overview
The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is a regulation enacted by the European Union (EU) to strengthen and unify the protection of personal data across the EU and regulate the international transfer of data. The regulation was officially issued on May 25, 2016, and came into effect as a legally binding law in all member states of the European Economic Area (EEA) on May 25, 2018.
