Yealink and AI Act

Regulation Overview

The European Parliament adopted the Artificial Intelligence Act (the "AI Act") in March 2024, and the European Council officially approved the AI Act in May 2024. The AI Act came into effect on August 1, 2024. Th AI Act aims to regulate the use and development of artificial intelligence, ensuring its safety, transparency, and ethical compliance. It is the world's first comprehensive AI regulation, designed to establish rules that ensure AI technologies do not harm public interests, while promoting innovation and enhancing Europe's competitiveness in the global AI field. The Act utilizes the Risk-based approach to categorize regulated entities and subjects, prescribing different levels of requirements and obligations.

Yealink, as a deployer of AI system, utilizes well-established AI models. The AI systems deployed by Yealink fall under the category of limited-risk AI systems as defined in the AI Act. These systems primarily employ AI algorithms to detect and analyze sound and motion.
