To rotate your device in Microsoft Teams, the process may vary depending on the type of device you're using (e.g., desktop, mobile, or tablet). Here are the general methods for rotating your device in Teams:
For Desktop (Windows/Mac):
Microsoft Teams does not have a built-in feature to rotate your desktop screen within the app. However, you can rotate your screen using your operating system's built-in screen rotation options.
For Windows:
Right-click on your desktop.
Select Display settings.
Scroll down to Display orientation.
Choose your desired orientation (Landscape or Portrait) from the drop-down menu.
Alternatively, you can press Ctrl + Alt + Arrow key (up, down, left, or right) to rotate your screen, but this shortcut might not work on all devices.
For Mac:
Open System Preferences.
Select Displays.
Click the Rotation drop-down menu and choose your desired orientation (usually available for supported monitors).
For Mobile Devices (iOS/Android):
When using Teams on mobile devices, the app will usually automatically adjust the orientation based on how you hold the device. If it doesn't automatically rotate:
Check if the device’s screen rotation is enabled:
On iPhone/iPad: Swipe down from the top-right corner (Control Center) and ensure the Rotation Lock is off.
On Android: Swipe down from the top of the screen to open the quick settings and make sure Auto-rotate is turned on.
Restart Teams: Sometimes, closing and reopening the Teams app can fix rotation issues.
Reposition your device: If the screen still does not rotate, try holding your phone or tablet in the opposite direction (portrait to landscape or vice versa).
For Tablets (Using External Display or Teams Room Setup):
If you're using a Yealink MeetingBar or similar device in a Microsoft Teams Room, rotating the screen may be done manually on the device settings. Most systems auto-adjust based on room configuration and device orientation.
In case these methods don't solve your issue, you can try restarting Teams, or reinstalling the app if the device doesn't rotate as expected.
